Leonard Franklin Johnson was born on September 30, 1951, in Pittsburg, Texas to Leonard and Frances Johnson.

He attended Fredrick Douglas High School where he graduated in 1970. He furthered his studies at East Texas State University where he graduated in 1974. Graduation did not stop the friendships he gained at E.T. The in 1974.The group remained very close and would frequently gather throughout the group remained very close and would frequently gather throughout the years.

He joined the Dallas Fire Department in 1975 where his accolades were profound and appreciated. He remained with the Dallas Fire Department for 35 years.

He united in marriage with Lesa Johnson in 1985, and to that union two daughters were born. He and his family were devoted members of St. Mark Baptist Church of Garland. Texas. In Later years, the family joined membership at All Nations Fellowship in Garland, Texas.

After retirement he took time to appreciate leisure activities such as singing, fishing, playing cards/dominoes, and traveling. He was a big home team fan of both the Cowboys and Mavericks and loved to watch western tv shows and eat western tv shows and eat Mexican food. He loved fellowshipping with both family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father Leonard Johnson, his mother Frances Boyd Sublet Johnson, his sister Judy Lanelle Johnson, brother Vernell Boyd Kelly, sister Novella Boyd, sister Rosetta Boyd and sister Velma Marie Boyd Harris Coleman.

He leaves to cherish his memories and mourn his loss, his wife Lesa Johnson, and daughters, Lauren and L'Oréal Johnson, Wilma Jean Hester (J.W. Hester), Lillian Faye Mitchell (Jesse Mitchell), Annie Ruth Palmer (J.D. Palmer), Dorothy Taylor (Bob Taylor),  Glennis Johnson, Linda Duffey (Jerry Duffey) and a large host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
