Leatrice Lynn Lewis was born in Dallas, Texas on June 21, 1960, to the percentage of John Daniel Lewis Sr. and Daisy Mabel Lewis where she resided most of her life. Leatrice Gave birth to two children: a beautiful girl, Wymesha, and a handsome boy, Brelon. She made many sacrifices throughout their lives to ensure well-being and good health.

Leatrice spent her years after retirement not only caring for her children, but caring for older adults and the sick and shut-in, as well as serving her community via the spread of NAACP newsletters. She was well known and loved for her selflessness and continuing faith, spreading love, joy, and the word of God to everyone; family, friends, and strangers. She also served on the usher board and participated in Noon Day Service activities at New Birth Missionary Baptist Church where she attended for about 14 years before departure.
