Leatha Mae Thomas born, June 11, 1942 in Shongaloo, LA to the late Jimmie Doyer and Naomi Thomas, She was their only child. She attended Dallas Public Schools, and later earned a certificate in business from Allstate Business College.
Leatha worked for Parkland Hospital for many years were she became  certified as a Nurse Assistant In the Labor and Delivery Department.
After retiring she became active in the Evan Recreation Center in Mesquite, Texas where she was a part of the Volleyball team and she faithfully worked out 3 times a week which included 3 mile walks.
Leatha accepted Christ at a young age and was baptized at Sweet Home Baptist Church in Shongaloo, LA. At the time of her passing at the was a member of Mount Hebron M.B.C  under the leadership of Pastor Leonard O. Leach.

She leaves to cherish her memories 2 daughters Angela Horton Borders( Michael Sr.). Michelle Horton Hopkins (Randolph) 3 grandchildren 2 great grand children and a host of other family and friends.
