Lealer Joan Jackson Craig was born November 11, 1942 to the parentage of Mary Lee Pierce and Isaac Jackson in Many, La. She was the eldest of six children.

Lealer graduated from Sabine High School, class of 1960, in Many, La.

In 1962, she relocated from Louisiana to Texas and married Charlie George Maxie during their union they were blessed with 2 children, Brett D. Maxie and Felicia Maxie.

Lealer will always be remembered as a person who was adventurous, funny, and bubbly who had a loveable personality that everyone enjoyed having around. She was also known as being a great cook. Lealer loved spending her pastimes fishing and camping. She enjoyed being in the great outdoors.

Lealer attended Community Baptist Church in Dallas, TX. under the leadership of Rev. Archie Banks. She was a faithful member until her health began to decline.

Lealer was preceded in death by her parents, Mary Lee Pierce and Isaac Jackson and brother, Donald Wayne Pierce.

Lealer answered her call from labor to reward on November 21, 2023 in Rowlett, TX. Left to cherish and celebrate her legacy: children, Brett D. Maxie (Angela) of Longmont, CO. and Felicia Maxie of Mesquite, TX; grandchildren, Keisha L. Williams (Kevin) of Sachse, TX, Stephanie Hamilton (Brandon) of Thornton, CO, Brett D. Maxie II of Lewisville, TX, Adam K. Maxie of Henderson, NV. and Maya N. Maxie of Lewisville, TX and Olivia M. Maxie of Lewisville, TX; great grandchildren, Camille A. Williams, Kevin V. Williams, Jr., Lauren P Williams, Madeline G. Hamilton and Elliott Hamilton; siblings, Loretta Johnson of Killeen, TX. , Patsy Ann Jones of Columbus, GA., Johnny Mallard and David Mallard both of Dallas, TX and a host of family and friends.
