On March 12, 1955 Larry Donnell Boyd was born to the late Donnell Melton and Ebbie Boyd-Crear in Dallas Texas.

He received his formal education at Hillcrest High School and graduated in 1973. Larry furthered his education and attended Southern Methodist University and East Texas State University in Commerce Texas. Shortly after he entered into the navy where he served his country and was later honorably discharged.

After he left the navy, he worked at the First National Bank as a security guard for 15 years.

Larry accepted Christ at an early age where he was an usher, sang in the youth choir, he participated in the purity class at Mitchell Street Church of God in Christ. Later his membership moved to Abundant Life Church of God in Christ under the leadership of Pastor Everett Jones.

Larry is preceded in death by his father Donnell Melton, Brother Charles Boyd and Grandmothers Katie Melton, Dovie Boyd and Grandfathers Ebb Boyd and Charles Melton.

On November 7, 2017 Larry entered into the arms of the master. Larry leaves to mourn and cherish his memories: Mother, Ebbie Crear , 2 brothers John Boyd and Carl Crear , 1 sister Debbie Crear, and 7 children: Quindrea Boyd, Larry Boyd, Ashley Scott, Anna Brown "Tempie", Dominique Brown, Abbie Boyd and Katie Boyd. 3 Grandchildren, Skyy Owens, Kameron Boyd and Aurora Tolliver and a host of nieces and nephews.
