LaJewell Affectionate Known as (Lea) was born on April 21, 1950 to the parents of James and Finnis Turner in Kilgore, Texas.

She graduated from Booker T. Washington High School in 1969. Following her graduation, she attended EL Centro College School of Nursing.

In 1969 she married her high school sweetheart Robert Earl Owens and to this union two children were born.

Lea worked for the Social Security Administration and did contract work for the Department of Homeland Security for many years before becoming a caregiver. She Loved Children, Loved to Cook, Sing and Loved her Gospel Music, Mostly "Quartet." Lea was very out spoken and didn't mind telling you how she felt!

She was a faithful member of New Birth Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Senior Pastor George W. Pryor until Executive Pastor Michael Pryor received the touch.

She is preceded in death by her parents James and Finnis Turner; 2 Brothers Terry and Robert: and one Sister Chonita Turner Jones.

LaJewell leaves to cherish her memories her Husband of 47 years Robert of Dallas, Texas; one daughter La'Tarsha (Nakia) of Lancaster, TX Four Grandchildren: Jalendra Eriel, S Ance & Nakia Jr. Two ADOPTED Grandchildren, Chase and Chelsi Easley; great grandchild, Erain; One Sister Alivia Garrett: One Brother Arthur Turner (Felecia) and a host of close relatives & Friends that Loved her dearly!
