Lafollette Adell
Duckett
November 11, 1964 – June 4, 2025
LaFollette Adell Duckett was born to Doris Jean Duckett and Wayland Duckett, Sr. on November 11, 1964 in Dallas, Texas. He completed his race on Earth on June 4, 2025. He gave his life to Christ at an early age as a member of True Lee Baptist Church, which was two doors down from his family home, under the leadership of Robert L. Parish, Sr. He continued to study his Bible until the day he entered into eternal rest, sharing his daily readings with his family.
LaFollette attended Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts before transferring and graduating from W. W. Samuell High School, class of 1983. After graduating high school and a brief stint in the Air Force, he worked various jobs in retail, warehouses, and as a licensed bartender. At the time of his passing, he was a licensed Journeyman 3 Electrician for PayneCrest Electric, Inc. and a proud and beloved member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local Union 20.
He was a skilled violin and chess player--skills that he passed on to his children, his greatest point of pride. He was a proud father and grandfather, and fiercely believed in family ties. His family and friends knew him as an unrelenting giver and a jokester, always playing pranks and cracking jokes, and if he knew he was going to see someone he made sure to have something for them to brighten their day.
LaFollette was preceded in death by his parents Doris Jean and Wayland Duckett, Sr.; and his siblings Mary Duckett Henderson and Wayland "Sonny" Duckett, Jr. He leaves to cherish his memory his children Jazmyn Duckett and Armand (Kyrah) Duckett; and grandson Ayden Duckett (son of Armand and Kyrah); his siblings Waylette Ann Duckett Townes, Stanley Walker, Vera (Darrel) Gordon, Vickie Walker, Cassandra Wilson Paul, Wendell Wilson, and Leslie (Janey) Duckett; a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, and friends.
