Kimberley Rochelle Royal was born on August 25, 1976 in Harbor City, California to Hazel Valrie Bratcher and Wilburn Bratcher Jr. She instantly became a source of love and adoration for her parents and big brother, Michael. She attended schools in Hacienda Heights, CA and in 1994 graduated from Glenn A. Wilson High School, where she was a cheerleader.
At the age of 12 years old she was baptized by Rev. E.W. McCall, Sr. at St Stephen Missionary Baptist church, where she remained a member until she relocated to Dallas Texas. She was very active in the youth choir. She had an amazing God given voice and she could play piano by ear. She continued her musical interest as she attended California Baptist University, where she met the love of her life, Kenneth M. Royal.
Kenneth and Kimberley were married on February 15, 1997 and to their union was born four beautiful children: Kevin, Korey, Kelley, and Kayla. They moved their family to the Mesquite area in 2008.
Kimberley was self-employed as an Associate for Legal Shield where she was dedicated and determined to help all people in her path to get legal insurance and representation prior to the need. She worked hard and rose to the ranks of Executive Director and received the Lady of Justice award in 2016. She was extremely proud of receiving that award. The Legal Shield Team was like family to her.
Kimberley was a beacon of light and love to her family. Always serving others and fiercely loyal to family and friends. She and Kenneth always opened their home to children (nieces and nephews). Kimberley was famous among family and friends for her delicious homemade cinnamon rolls.
God called her home to her heavenly peace and freed her from a short term illness on June 27, 2019.
She leaves to cherish her memory: husband Kenneth M. Royal, sons Kevin J. Royal, Korey J. Royal, and daughters Kelley M. Royal, and Kayla M. Royal, mother Hazel Patterson, step-father Richard Patterson, father Wilburn Bratcher, Sr. brother Michael Smith, mother-in-law Frances K. Royal, and a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, wonderful friends and business partners.
