Obituary

Joyce Marie Cobb Jones was born on June 15, 1940, and she earned her wings on September 16, 2024. She grew up in Madisonville, Texas. After moving to Midlothian, Texas she attended Booker T. Washington and began her studies of Nursing. Soon after, she married Emery Cobb Sr. and seven children were born unto that union, Sharon Cobb Simmons (Joe Elmer), Kenneth Cobb (Debra), Emery Cobb Jr. (Sheila), Sandra Easter (George) Lajuana Dee Cobb, Frederica Cobb Ransom (August), Damon Cobb. She began her career as a Licensed Vocational Nurse at the Veteran Affairs Hospital in Dallas, Texas, where she had an impeccable commitment as a Nurse for over 25 years. She was celebrated and honored in many news articles, amongst co-workers, family members, and friends.

Joyce loved reading, dancing, music, and traveling. She also loved trips to the casino. She was a dedicated mother, and a loving grandmother as well.

She was preceded in death by her Mother Odice Cooper, stepfather Leo Cooper, father James Nealy, brother Leo Cooper, daughter Lajuana Dee Cobb, daughter Sandra Easter. She leaves her cherished legacy to her 5 children, 21 grandchildren, 30 greatgrandchildren, 1 great-grandchild and a host of family and friends.
