Johnny Mcgilvery,
Jr.
July 17, 1937 – November 10, 2024
My eyes are ever on the Lord, For only he will release my feet from the snare. Psalms 25:15
Johnny McGilvery Jr. was born on July 17, 1937 to Johnny McGilvery Sr. and Alice Smith in Marshall, Texas. He accepted Christ at a very young age and his favorite scriptures were from Psalms 19 and Psalms 25.
Johnny was very intellectual and well organized. Always wanting to learn new things to add to his vast knowledge and experiences, there was never a puzzle he couldn't solve or statistic he didn't already know about.
In his spare time, Johnny loved spending time with loved ones, watching his beloved westerns or playing dominoes and wasn't ashamed to tell you he was 'The Domino King' and that you couldn't beat him! He also loved listening to Blues music from his expansive collection of blues records from various artists such as Albert King and Little Milton, just to name a few.
Although Johnny loved watching all sports, his love for golf led him to work for Shakeley Corp. and then MacGregor Golf, both being equipment companies specializing in golf, before going to work for Siemens Automation where he was never late or missed a day for 33 years, until retiring in 2015 at the age of 78 years young!
Johnny is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Lorine Searcy; longtime friends, Robie and Letha Young; and best friend/co-worker. Therliece Roberts.
He leaves to cherish his memories to family: Mona, Devlin, Gaylenn (Leroy) and Kristian (Tim) all of Dallas; one sister, Mildred Smith of Dallas; special friends of the Palmer and Roberts family of Dallas and a host of other beloved relatives and friends in various states.
