Obituary

Johnnie Leroy Dotsy was born July 24, 1924 in Plum TX to the parentage of Will Dotsy and Lucille Jackson Dotsy. Leroy was the oldest of five children born to their union. He transitioned to eternity with his Lord on July 6, 2022, in Dallas Texas at age 97. Leroy married the love of his life, Lois Taylor Dotsy in 1952 and were the proud parents of two sons, Curtis Palmer and Charles Dotsy. The two remained united in holy Matrimony for 64 years until Lois's transition in May of 2016.

Leroy accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of Egypt Chapel. Later he united with Carver Heights Baptist church under the Leadership of the late Reverend Tyler Carter. He served faithfully as a member of the Deacon Board and Male Chorus. In 1986 he united with Antioch Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Reverend Karry D. Wesley where he served faithfully as a member of the Deacon Board, Church School, Senior Choir, Senior Saints Ministry and at the time of death was the 2nd oldest Charter Member of the AFMBC.

Leroy worked as a Lumber foreman for Ivy Lumber company until his retirement in 1989. He was a faithful servant who loved the Lord. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend who loved and supported his family.

Leroy was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Cecil Nell Price and Mary Helen Branch; brothers, John Clay Dotsy and Willard Dotsy; son, Curtis E. Palmer, Sr and wife, Lois Dotsy.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his son, Charles (Ruth) Dotsy of Plano, TX; four grandchildren, Carla (Jerry) McElroy of Flower Mound, TX, Brigitte Jimison of Garland TX, Melony Palmer of Cedar Hill, TX, Curtis E. Palmer Jr, of Desoto, TX; eight great grandchildren, Jerry McElroy II, Jared McElroy, Marcus Stokes, Desmond Stokes, Jada Jimison, Jasmine Jimison, Chanel E. Palmer, Curtis E. Palmer, III; one great-great granddaughter, Ashtyn Stokes; daughter-n-law, Dorothy Palmer and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, church family and friends.
