John Henry Johnson, Sr. was born in Jefferson Texas on July 29, 1934 to the parentage of Robert Lee Johnson and Lois Standoak.  He was the only child of Robert Johnson and the eldest child of Lois Standoak.

John was educated in the Marion County School System. He enlisted in the United States Navy Dec. 17, 1953. He was Saved and Accepted his Calling to Preach the Masters Word while serving in the Navy in San Diego California.

His Christian Journey began at Starlight Church of God in Christ in Jefferson Texas. He later moved to Dallas Texas and became a Faithful Servant of Pages Temple Church of God in Christ. He later fellowshipped with New Hope Church of God in Christ. He Pastored Trinity Divinity Church of God in Christ and later Pastored Cedar Crest Church of God in Christ until the Lord called him home.

Elder Johnson met and married Wilma Henderson and to this union two children were born, Melissa and Johnathan.

He later met and married Melba Else, his wife of 42 years and to this union one son was born, John Jr.

He was preceded in death by his Father Robert L. Johnson (Catherine),His Mother Lois Burton(W.C.),brother William Cullen(Billy)Burton Jr., Father and Mother in Law, Lee D. Else(Bulia).

He leaves to cherish his memories, his Devoted wife Melba Johnson, children, Melissa Kaiser(Roderick), Johnathan Johnson(Carla) John Henry Johnson Jr.(Brittany), Willonda Phifer. Grandchildren,  Jessica, LaDarion, Skylar and Jalen.

Great Grandchildren,  Hailee, Landyn and Khloe. Siblings, Alice Kline(Len), Jacqueline Carlisle (Walter) and Cheryl Warren. A host of relatives and friends.
