John Larry Choyce, Sr. 70, of Lancaster, Texas passed away on Sunday, April, 12, 2020 with his family by his side. John was born on January 17, 1950, in Shreveport, Louisiana to Leo Choyce, Jr. and Leatrice Carol Mason. In 1957 at the age of seven John relocated to Dallas, Texas with his mother and sisters. John was the eldest of six and the only boy. John completed his formal high school education from Franklin D. Roosevelt High School, class of 1967. After graduation, John was employed in the plastics industry. There he meet the love of his life, Brenda Blue. John and Brenda were married on March 17, 1977. John was a proud, devoted and loving father to Shonda Lusk, Donnis Blue and John Larry Choyce, Jr. John retired from GP Plastics in 2013 where he worked as a Supervisor. There were many things that brought joy to his life. He loved spending time with his family, loved music, sports cars and collecting coins. However, his favorite thing was taking care of his yard. All the neighbors strived to keep up with John's immaculately manicured lawn. His yard was the envy of the neighborhood. John leaves to cherish his memory a devoted wife of 43 years, Brenda Choyce, three loving children, Shonda Lusk (Lester) of Ft Worth, TX, Donnis Blue, of Ft Worth, TX and , John Choyce, Jr. (Felicia) of Red Oak, TX, four adoring sisters, Linda F. Choyce Turner of DeSoto, TX, Mary Anne Choyce Hampton (Jesse) of DeSoto, TX, Carolyn Choyce Readoux (Alfred) of Midlothian, TX, Sondra Lynn Moore Buycks (Kennith) of Rowlett, TX, brother-in-law Allen Bethany (Patricia), 10 wonderful grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, an aunt, Joyce Ba (Thierno) of Dallas, TX, a cousin, Anthony Harris of Mesquite, TX and a host of nieces, nephews and life-long friends. John was preceded in death by his father, Leo Choyce, Jr; his mother, Leatrice Carol Moore and his sister, Helen M. Choyce Williams.
