Joe Lewis was born on December 4, 1954, to Wilbert Lewis, Sr. and Rosie Lee Green in Tyler, Texas. The family moved to Dallas when Joe was at an early age. He attended D.I.S.D school ultimately attending James Madison High School. Throughout his life he started various businesses such as East Dallas Dry Cleaners and Lewis foods. He never met a stranger!

He was one of the original members of Solid Rock Holy Missionary Church founded in 1972 by his mother in East Dallas. Through the years Joe was a faithful member of Solid Rock until his passing.

Through his relationship with Renee Colson, she bore two children, Zyvier and Yolanda Lewis. His children will carry the legacy of their father for
generations to come.

Joe is proceeded in death by his father Wilbert Lewis, Sr. Pastor Rosie Lee Lewis mother, brothers Wilbert Lewis, Jr. and Junior Lewis. Sisters Ethel
Lee, Glenda and Shirley Lewis. Joe has one living brother Odis Lewis (Janice) of Red Oak, Texas. The memories of how Joe will be remembered for years to come by his aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends.
