Joann Nelson was born on November 24, 1944 to the parents of Ervin Taylor and Mildred White.

She was preceded in death by her parents: three brothers and one son. Joann accepted Christ at an early age and began her Christian walk at an early age. She attended Mt. Sinai C.O.G.I.C.

She received her education in Waxahachie, TX from Turner High School.

Her life memories will be cherished by her loving children: Patricia Ann, Nathan, Anthony-Olivia. She had one loving sister, Mrs. Glenda Carter  and her children all of Dallas, Texas. She leaves behind her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
