Jo Ella Brightmon-Henderson was born to the late Leonard Brightmon and Verlie- Lee Smith Brightmon on April 4, 1950. In Marshall, Texas. She accepted Christ into her life. Her favorite saying was "If the Good Lord says the same". She departed this earthly life on March 25, 2022.

Jo A*K*A Foots, that's what her dad called her was loved by her parents and siblings. When her family moved to Dallas, Texas in 1952. She was raised and attended all Dallas Independent Schools. She later went on to college to pursue becoming a nurse. She has worked in the health care field at Parkland Hospital all while attending college where she served many years until leaving there and working at Baylor Hospital of Dallas. She retired from Baylor after 27 years of service. Jo was a hard-dedicated worker who believed in being on time no matter where she went. She later retired to travel the world with her family until she left this earth.

Jo met her husband of 26 years the late Welton Earl Henderson when she was a teenager in West Dallas. They got married on March 22, 1967. To this union, two children were born. Jo leaves to cherish memories of her with her children, Crystal Deneice Henderson-Gee (Jamie) of DeSoto, Texas, and Welton Earl Henderson Jr. (Joan) of Irving, Texas. Grandchildren Keaira Lusk, Breanna Henderson, Christopher Lusk, Indie Johnson, Kamarion Hall, Welton Earl Henderson III, and Jy'maar Watson-Pirtle. Great-grandchildren Damaiya Henderson, Karis Lusk, Kacen Bennett, Kaliyah Bennet, and Kasir Lusk. Her only surviving sibling, sister Ruth Brightman -Hunter (Joe) of Dallas
