Jimmie Don Hollis was born to the parentage of Thomas Hollis Sr. and Velma Ruth Hollis.

He was active in ROTC at Booker T Washington and graduated in 1968.

He leaves behind his spouse, Marquenez Wilson-Hollis; two sisters, Virginia and Jaime; three brothers, Steven (Barbara), Donald Ray and Mark Anthony; c hildren, Deidra Hollis, Devonza Preston (Catman), Durrel Preston (Cheto) and Desiree Preston and two step-sons, Richard and Tristian and a host of other family members and friends.
