Jessie James Mackey was born August 07, 1963, in Corsicana, Texas to the parentage of Joe Mackey and Ruby E. Lee- Mackey. He was the 8th child out of 9 siblings.

He accepted Christ at an early age. Attended Renfro Memorial COGIC in Corsicana, TX prior to moving to Dallas, Texas. He served faithfully at Refreshing Springs Church of God in Christ in Lancaster, Texas for several years under the leadership of Bishop Gerald W. Jones, Sr., until his health failed. He loved God and his family.

On September 4, 2009, he was united in holy matrimony with the love of his life, Olivia Hampton in Las Vegas, Nevada with whom he lived a blessed Christian life of 16 years.

He attended school in Corsicana ISD through the 11th grade and graduated from Lovington High School in Lovington, New Mexico.

He was an entrepreneur, and a go getter. He worked for GAF Roofing in a managerial position for over 10 years prior to his 1st business venture which was a Rolls Royce limousine service. He owned and managed a trucking and security company. He did whatever his hands found to do; he sold firewood as well as scraped metal.

Jessie was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Ruby Lee- Mackey, 3 brothers- Danny Mackey, Lenard Mackey and Rickey Mackey, 2 sisters- Joan Jefferson and Ruby Lois Rimes.

He departed this life on October 3, 2025.

Jessie leaves to cherish his memories, his loving devoted wife Olivia, children: Jessica Birts, Teaira Birts, Elijiah Hampton, Tamekah Hampton, Brandon Hampton, and Doris (Joe) Beasley and 14 grandchildren whom he loved dearly; brother, Robert (Linda) of Canton, TX, 2 sisters, Carolyn (Willie) Hasty of Lancaster, TX; Diane (Lee) Keeton Jr of Wilmer, TX and a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
