Mr. Jerry Widemon was born May 12, 1947, in Lindale, Texas to the parentage of Gaston and Clifford Widemon, who preceded him in death. Two brothers, Sammie G. Widemon & Famous E. Widemon, also preceded him in death. He attended public school and high school at Emmett J. Scott, both in Tyler, TX. He united with Clear Springs Baptist Church at an early age where he taught himself to play the bass and lead guitar. He attended Tyler Junior College and majored in Elementary Education. He later enlisted in the United States Airforce as a Fire Fighter and afterwards moved to Dallas to pursue his career.
He met Alice Marie Cicero in 1966 at a church picnic in Clear Springs and later married her on March 10,1971. To this union, two children were born Tony A. Widemon & Ramonda Paulette Widemon. Jerry was employed with Sears as a dedicated employee never missing a day of work for 36 years. He loved music, cars, & remote model planes. He played lead & bass guitar for the Spiritual Five Gospel Group of Dallas, TX, where his brother Sammie was the manager of the group. They ministered at local churches and various cities. He joined Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Pleasant Grove where he enjoyed the Men's bible classes and played lead and bass guitar for the Male Chorus. He later joined Christian Stronghold Church in Dallas, TX, where he served as a greeter until Covid closed the churches and his health failed.
He leaves to cherish his memory: a devoted, loving, and faithful wife of 51 years, Mrs. Alice Widemon, one daughter, Dr. Ramonda Widemon Busby of Forney, TX, two sons, Tony A. Widemon (Amy) of Killeen, TX, Greg Warren (Janice) of Forney, TX; 7 grandchildren: Donald Pray, Desiree Widemon, Toni Widemon, Jade Busby, Raven Busby, Greg Warren Jr., & Stephaun Warren; 5 great grandchildren; one sister, Lulene Roberson (Charles) of Richardson, TX, a brotherly cousin, Hurley Ray Taylor (Betty) of Los Angeles, CA; five devoted sister-in-laws, Erma Widemon of Dallas, TX., Evelyn Widemon of Grand Prairie, TX, Ramona Fay Williams, Deborah Warren (Arthur), Eunice Cicero (Harold), and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
