He was born to parents of Claude Walter Edwards and Minnie Webster Edwards in Sherman TX.  He was raised in Dallas, TX and resided in Elm Thicket Neighborhood.  He was the second child of four siblings.

Jerry was in the graduate class of 1966 at Booker T.  Washington in Dallas. He married Cavonne Echols(Candy) and had two sons Jerry Jr. and Jerrick D. Edwards.

Jerry loved time spent around family. He loved playing dominoes.
Jerry favorite scripture was Psalm 23.

His parents preceded in death Claude and Minnie, his Nephew Leonard C. Bange, Uncle William Melvin Jenkins. Cousins: Betty Winfrey, Bill Webster William Earl Webster, Ronnie Webster
