Obituary

Jenia Diane Newhouse began her journey on January 29, 1979, in Freehold, New Jersey, the second of two children born to the union of James N. and Rosa Diane Smith. On December 20, 2025, at the age of 46, Jenia peacefully departed this life to enter her eternal rest. At age twelve, her family moved to Duncanville, Texas, setting the stage for a life of "Texas-sized" impact. A proud 1998 graduate of Duncanville High School, Jenia
initially pursued her interest in technology, earning a Bachelor of Science in Telecommunications Management from DeVry University. However, Jenia's heart for service eventually led her to answer a higher calling in the field of education. Dedicated to her craft, she achieved academic excellence at Tarleton State University, where she earned a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction.

A Master Educator
Jenia's career spanned Grand Prairie, Fort Worth, Cedar Hill, and Irving ISDs. She possessed a "lightningin-a-bottle" gift: the ability to be vibrantly silly enough to win a student's heart, yet commanding enough to earn their respect. Her excellence was celebrated as Teacher of the Year at S.S. Dillow Elementary in Fort Worth. Beyond the classroom, she served as a Lead and Mentor Teacher, leading with a servant's heart and an uncanny ability to bridge social gaps, ensuring she didn't just teach curriculum, she taught people.

A Servant's Heart
Faith was Jenia's compass and her heart for the Lord took her across the globe. Whether she was leading worship at church as a praise team lead or in the villages of Papua New Guinea or sharing the Gospel through arts and crafts with children in Haiti alongside her husband, Gabriel. Her mission was simple, to love people as Jesus did. As a dedicated 1st-grade Team Leader for the Next Gen Kids Ministry at Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship, she showcased her gift of translating complex biblical truths into moments of wonder and discovery. She also
served as a children's leader for two years at Bible Study Fellowship (BSF).

A Symphony of Love and Family
In 2007, a creative music collaboration with Gabriel Newhouse blossomed into a divine alignment of spirits. They wed on November 14, 2009 beginning a sixteen-year "kingdom partnership" defined by mutual devotion. While her accolades were many, Jenia's heart belonged to her family. She selflessly paused her career to embrace motherhood, finding her greatest joy in her "double blessing" twins, Gabriel Jr. and Gabriella, and her youngest son, Caleb. Following a divine lead, she transitioned her gift for mentoring into a career as a Realtor, lending her talents and expertise to several prominent Realtor groups, including EXP, TD Realty, and Image Realty. She co-founded Newhouse Home Solutions, LLC. with her husband, with their desire to specialize in real estate investing, professional organization and assembly services. Whether nurturing her home, leading a classroom, or building a business, she kept her eyes fixed on the Lord, enduring until the end with inspiring grace.

Legacy
Jenia is survived by her devoted husband, Gabriel Newhouse Sr., her cherished children, Gabriel Jr., Gabriella, and Caleb. Her parents, Rosa Diane Smith and James N. Smith (Rosa), her brother, Jermaine Smith, and a host of relatives and friends. Throughout her life, Jenia lived by faith, enduring with grace and strength that inspired everyone who witnessed her journey.
