Jannie was born January 9, 1925 in Gary, Panola County, Texas, to the parentage of Mintha Flakes and Robert Diles. She attended New Salem School in Gary, Texas.
She accepted Christ at an early age and grew up working with other youths in the Shady Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Gary, Texas.
Jannie and Roy Lee Hudnall were joined in matrimony in 1945 and to this union three children were born. Shortly after marriage they moved to Beckville, Texas and later moved to Dallas, Texas.
She was employed at J.N. Ervin School as lunchroom assistant where she helped with students lunch preparation. She later worked as a Home Health Caregiver (Private Duty Sitter) until retirement.
In 1959, she united with the Mt. Tabor Baptist Church, under the leadership of Rev. Floyd D. Harris, where she continued to serve until her death. She worked with the youth, the Food Pantry; she served with the Nurse's Guild Ministry, the Deaconess Ministry and she was also active with the Women Day Mission and Sunday School. She served with the Northwestern District Convention. She loved her church family and served faithfully until her health started to fail in October of 2021. She always loved getting her family and friends together to be her special guest on "Family and Friends Day".
On her 97th Birthday, January 9, 2022, Sister Jannie went from Labor to Reward. She entered into heavenly rest to join her family members who proceeded her in death; her Mother Mintha Flakes, Husband Roy Lee Hudnall, her Daughter, Linda "Peaches" Asberry, her Sisters, Lola Scott and Frances Johnson and her great-grandchildren; Bennett Fuller, III and Kwamane Dale; great-great-grandchildren; Vonnaejah Johnson, Devonts Johnson, Von Anthony Watkins, JaMonica Johnson, and Karsyn Roberson.
She leaves to cherish her memories: Two daughters, Zendlar Williams, Brenda Whitfield (Donald); Ten Grandchildren; Kelvin Williams (Tiffany), Venecia Lynch (Curtis), Chajuana Williams, Daphnie Williams, Jamad Williams (Chriselle), Daniel Hudnall, DeMonica Nicole Johnson, Demeia Toy Edwards (Jacory), Joe Asberry, Cameron Hudnall and a host of great and great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, relatives and special friends.
