Janet Louise Adams, affectionately known as “Lou” by her family and close friends, was born on February 2, 1954, in Dallas, Texas to the late Marion and Elizabeth Isaac Adams.

At an early age Janet accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. His favor and grace sustained her throughout her life. She united with the Church of the Living God PGT, where she was baptized, and faithfully served in Sunday School, the choir, and BTU.

Janet experienced the joy of marriage with Robert Griggs.

A proud graduate of L.G. Pinkston High School class of 1972, Janet was actively involved in numerous school activities. She was a member of the Drill Team; she also played the flute in the Mighty Vikings Marching Band. Even then, she displayed the passion, creativity, and commitment to excellence that characterized her life.

After earning her cosmetology license Janet set her sights high, and fearlessly pursued her entrepreneurial ambitions. She transformed her passion for cosmetology and nail artistry into a thriving and successful business, quickly establishing a distinguished name for herself within the Dallas beauty and social scene. Through her exceptional talent, creativity, and impeccable style, Janet cultivated an impressive clientele that included many of Dallas’ prominent socialites and celebrities.

Janet had a deep appreciation for music; the arts, and purple was her favorite color. She was known for her loving, caring, and generous spirit. Although she had no children of her own, she deeply cherished her nieces and nephews who brought so much joy to her life. Above all her family was her greatest joy and love she leaves behind.

Janet was preceded in death by her parents Marion and Elizabeth Isaac Adams. She departed this life leaving to cherish her memory: two brothers Alvin Adams (Renee), Steve Adams; three sisters Sandra Adams Brown (Rowland), Karen Adams Snow (Carl), Detra Adams; three nephews, four nieces, one preceded her in death, and three great nephews along with a host of other relatives and friends who will forever cherish her memory.
