Obituary

James Ollison, Often referred to as "Brother", was born to the parentage of Cozy Ollison and Edsel Denton-Ollison, on October 16, 1945, In Harleton, TX. He received his formal education at Franklin D. Roosevelt High School in Dallas, Tx. With a desire to serve his county, he enlisted in the Armed Forces for several years. He later met the love of his life, Carol Joy and remained married to her for 50 years until her death separated them in 2020, to this union, no children were born but three were adopted.

He was a truck driver professional by trade for over 35 years with Roadway (YRC). He loved his job, and consequently retired. His CB name was Scooby Doo. He loved driving and record players: he had always wanted to buy a new one. He loved his family, and especially the company of his brother, Carmitchel, his niece, Rayla, Mawiyah (James), Kaletha Ollison, and Vanessa (Tim) Johnson. He liked lifting weights, going to the recreation center, walking his dog, Bubbles, and eating good food. He was jovial and fun to be round.

He spent his time helping and mentoring other young men in the family, advising them the paths they should go down. He was kind, mild tempered, but full of wisdom.

He is preceded in death by both parents, his wife, Carol, and one brother, Elaray (Ray) Ollison. He leaves to cherish his memories a loving brother, Carmitchel (Mitch), (Maggie) Ollison, "His GO 2 Girl" and devoted niece who cared for him like a daughter, Rayla Morrison, several in laws, Florine Ollison, Gwendolyn Payne (Kenneth), Jane Johnson (Ricky), Mary E. Derricotte, Robert Millerand Bob, three children, Donta, Felicia, and Deon Ollison, a special cousin, Ollie Mae, a special neighbor, Contessa, and other wonderful nieces, nephews, great nephews, and other friends and family who loved him dearly. His memories will live forever in our hearts because he left wonderful legacy.
