Obituary

James "Jim" Levasseur was born on August 11, 1955, in Pawtucket, RI. After years of suffering from Dementia, he was called home on July 29, 2025. Jim battled this disease with the utmost strength and determination. He never forgot the ones he loved most, which was apparent in June, when his youngest sister, brother-in-law and son went to visit him. His smile when he saw them lit up the room!
Jim also struggled with Crohn's Disease, which he was diagnosed with in the 1970's.

He was an amazing mechanic, working at Broadway Tire in Pawtucket, RI for many years. Having been raised in Attleboro, MA, Jim was an avid NE Patriots and Boston Red Sox fan. He had several signed jerseys, as well as an extensive card collection.

Jim is preceded in death by his loving mother, Madeleine Livingston; his father, Douglas Livingston; and his daughter, Melissa Levasseur. He leaves behind his loving son, Stephen Levasseur; his sisters Donna Lavoie (Gene), Helen Geisel and Evelyn Martina (Michael); his brothers Alfred Levasseur (Grace) and Timothy Levasseur; his grandchildren, Sage Levasseur, Alex Vega and Kevin DaTrinidade, along with his beloved nieces and nephews, including Andrew Lavoie (godson) and his son, Stephen's "partner in crime", Nicholas Lavoie; as well as several cousins and his caregiver in Texas, Pam Taylor (and family). His family also wishes to thank Heart to Heart Hospice for their exceptional care of Jim in the final weeks of his life.

Although we are heartbroken to have lost him so soon, we take comfort in the knowledge that he is now free of pain and no longer suffering. There will be no services at this time. A private memorial will be held at a later date in Massachusetts.
