James was born on January 24, 1954 in Ft. Worth, TX to Leroy and Joyce Douglas. He peacefully transitioned to eternity with his Lord on July 6, 2019, at the age of 65. James professed his faith in Christ at an early age.

James met and married Paula Printers and to this union three children were born. James was a great provider taking care of family and not just his immediate family. He had a kind heart and love to take care of others. James was a workaholic, and the last few years he would show up at family functions in that red shirt. He was a Store manager at Family Dollar for several years and his customers loved him. They were his family too because when they were in need he helped them out.

James was preceded in death by father Leroy Douglas. He leaves to cherish his memories, one daughter Kathryne Jeffries and four sons, James Jeffries Jr., Jason Jeffries, Sr. (Taylor), JaCorian Jeffries, & LaDarius Jeffries; mother Joyce Douglas; three brothers, Dwight Jeffries, Melvin Jeffries, Jr., and Kenneth Jeffries, Sr.; one sister, Linda Jeffries; four grandchildren, Darion Evans, T'Kovian Burnley, Jaylan Jeffries, and Jason Jeffries, Jr.; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, friends, co-workers, and Family Dollar customers.
