James Alexander Hillery was born November 12, 1945 in Dallas, Texas to James and Olivia Hillery.  Our beloved husband, father, and grandfather slipped peacefully into the arms of Jesus on November 8, 2022.  He was raised in Dallas where he attended Dallas Public Schools.  He earned his B.S. degree from Houston Tillston College, Austin, Texas.  He , was a member of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc.  He began his teaching career in Terrell ISD and later at David W. Carter High School for over 18 years.  He was a devoted husband to wife, Barbara Hillery for 55 years, loving father, grandfather, teacher, and co-worker.

He leaves to mourn, his wife Barbara, daughters Kimberly and Kellye, grandson Christian, granddaughter Andreeya, sister Rosemary Patterson, cousin(s) Sharon Cox and David Johnson along with a host of family members & friends.
