Iris Lanitra
Montgomery
May 1, 1957 – December 16, 2021
Iris LaNitra Morgan - Montgomery was born Iris LaNitra Carroll May 1, 1957, in For Still, Oklahoma. Her mother, Almon Bernice Johnson and father, Windoll Eugene Carroll would later have a second child Ashley Carroll, making Iris an older sister.
Upon leaving the Army base, LaNitra's mother, Almon, moved to Dallas, Tx by herself with her two children and worked two jobs to support and take care of her family. Working hard to make sure her children had a good education, Iris graduated from Bishop Dunne Catholic School in 1975.
She would later marry Larry Morgan and moved into her first house in Oak Cliff, Texas sometime in the 80s. But due to an unfortunate accident God seen to it that Iris's life would take a turn to something that she wasn't even prepared for.
April 1, 1989, Iris gave birth to her first and only child Isaac Carroll Hudson. With the doctors telling her she couldn't conceive; she knew that Isaac was a blessing from GOD and hence put all her love and effort into loving and doing the best she could as a mother.
Then she later married her high school sweetheart/soulmate George Montgomery. 50 plus years of knowing each other was a strong enough bond that only GOD himself could break. They married November 3, 2003, and never left one another's side until GOD called her home. The had the best of times, worst of times, but most importantly, love was there through all those times.
Passing away at the tender age of 64, Iris leaves behind one son, Isaac Carroll Hudson, one granddaughter, Iyanna Almon Hudson, her husband, George Montgomery, plus a slew of nieces and nephews who she absolutely loved and treated as her own children.
