Obituary

Mother Irine Bullock Knight Douglas was born in Monticello, Mississippi on September 21, 1935 to Ander Bullock and Mary Ella Laura Jane Bullock Walker Smith. She was the eighth of nine children. Mother Douglas slept away with the Lord at Methodist Hospital early Sunday morning, January 20, 2013.

Mother Douglas attended Foxworth Consolidation School. She gave her life to Christ at Rowley Church of God in Christ under the leadership of the late Elder Eugene Chester. She met and married Leon Douglas in 1974. She also served at Gethsemane Temple Church of God in Christ in New Orleans, Louisiana under the leadership of Pastor Earl Leviege; and served as a faithful member of Gethsemane Church of God in Christ in Dallas, Texas under the leadership of Pastor W.D. Taylor. She was a licensed missionary, deaconess, Sunday School teacher and Nurses Aide.

Mother Douglas was preceded in death by one child, Cynthia Smith, 2 sisters and 4 brothers.

She was a devoted wife to her husband of 39 years. The memories of mother will be cherished by: 3 sons, Johnny Bullock of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Kevin (Deborah) Smith of Harker Heights, Texas, Gregory Smith of Hephzibah, Georgia; 4 daughters, Frances (Akani) Bullock Mudakas, Mary Cathy Smith, Leona (Kenneth) James, Arlene Douglas all of Dallas, Texas; 2 brothers, Aaron (Minnie Bell) Bullock of Chipley, Florida and J.D. Bullock of Enda, TX, 21 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, 1 one the way and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
