Life Reflections

Mrs. Ida Ree Tolbert was born to the parents of Piccolia and Luella Coleman on May 7, 1935, in Lisbon, Louisiana.

Ida Ree accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of Greater Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church. She made Dallas, TX, her home, where she met and married Curlie Tolbert, and to this union, one daughter (Anita Tolbert) was born. Ida was an entrepreneur who owned and operated multiple doctor and nurse uniform shops.

Preceding her in death was her loving husband, Curlie Tolbert, of 45 years, three sisters, Velma, Mary Willis, and Annie Francis, and four brothers, R.P., Samuel, Theodis, Olen, Ray Dawson, and Joe Coleman.

She leaves to cherish her memories: Daughter Anita, one granddaughter LaQundia, two grandsons LaRell and LaTroy, five great-great-grandchildren Adam, Kailey, Marlon, Mariah, and Adaline. One brother, Lewis, and one sister, Emma Jean, along with a host of family and friends.

Eulogy

Today we are here to honor the life of Ida Ree Tolbert, a woman of class, strength, and grace. Ida loved her family and loved beautiful things. An extraordinary woman she was...she was that person you could call on when you needed advice, a good laugh, or just the honest truth. Ida was quick-witted and extremely driven. She was such an amazing person and made an impact on your life if you had the opportunity to be in her presence. Ida was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, relative, and friend to those close to her. She loved to laugh and was full of joy but also displayed great strength and had a wealth of wisdom that she often shared with many. To all of the family members and friends of Ida, let us all reflect on the time that we spent with her and know that we will always have and cherish those memories of her.
Love,
The Tolbert Family
