Obituary

Henry Charlton was born September 23, 1936 to the parentage of Alphonso H. Charlton & Lela Collins of Lufkin, TX. Henry attended Elementary and Dunbar High School in Lufkin, TX. He later moved to Dallas, TX where he met and married the love of his life Jewelean Grant.

Henry was a dedicated and faithful Ordained Deacon at Bethany Baptist Church for many years prior to joining The "Exciting" Singing Hills Baptist Church. He attended faithfully until his health began to fail. He was a devoted Christian, Father, Father-in-Law, Grandfather, Great Grandfather, Brother, Uncle, Great Uncle and friend to all who knew him until the Lord called him home.

He was employed by Elliott's Hardware for 35 years and Saint Elizabeth of Hungary for 10 years. He loved God, his Family, his Dallas Cowboys, Fishing, and Cruising the Seas with his one true love, Jewelean.

Henry was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Jewelean Charlton; 3 sisters Florine Collins Brooks, Marie Collins, Betty Jean Ross and his twin brother Sam Charlton; 2 sisters-in-law, Vera Stein Henry, Jessie Faye Hooper and 1 brother-in-law, Robert Grant.

He leaves to mourn his passing: 2 brothers, Vernon Collins (Violeta) of San Francisco, CA and Alphonso Charlton of Ft. Worth/Burleson, TX; 2 sons, Gary Charlton of Dallas, TX, Henry E. Charlton (Sandra) of DeSoto, TX and 1 daughter, Bridget Griffen (Tony) of Hutchins, TX; 3 grandsons Anthony Charlton (Shunqulia), Jasmun Charlton and Justin Charlton; 6 great grandchildren, Jayda Charlton, Ryan Charlton, Riley Charlton, Rayne Charlton, Raegan Charlton and Victory Charlton; 6 sisters-in-law pand 4 brothers-in-law, Evelyn Rice, Rena Broadnax, Robert Earl Grant, Bettie Henderson, Joyce Grant, James Grant, Dorothy Cox (Donnel), Brenda Cannon, Herman Henry all of Dallas, TX and George Edward Grant (Christine) of Reklaw, TX; and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, other relatives and friends.
