Henderson Cooper Junior was born to Henderson Cooper Senior and Callie Mae Cooper on July 19, 1945 in Marshall Texas. He attended Lincoln high school where he graduated in 1964. After high school he joined the Army and served in Seoul Korea as a Military Working Dog Handler (MWD) providing care and training which contributed to combat operations.
After his service in the army he came home to Dallas Texas where he soon met and married Brenda Joyce Williams in 1969.
Henderson worked for Union Pacific Railroad for 38 years and retired in 2005. He was well organized and efficient, known for his kind demeanor and eagerness to help others. He enabled the use of these skills whenever he was needed for assistance, whether for work, family, or friends.
After retirement, Henderson loved spending time outdoors, attending high school football games, tending to the yard and his garden, fishing and spending time with his family and dear friends. He often chauffeured his grandchildren to school and picked them up from practice, and even took them to college. His grandchildren will remember the times they enjoyed watching sports, watching world news and often laughing and talking with him. Henderson will also be remembered for the stature he held, the encouragement he gave, and the unconditional love he bestowed.
Henderson was preceded in death by his parents Henderson Cooper Senior and Callie Mae Cooper, two sisters Geneva Bryant (Jim) and Louise Robinson (Andrew) and his daughter Sherronda Renee Williams. He leaves to mourn his wife of 49 years Brenda Joyce Cooper, his two sons-Eric Glen Cooper and Kelvin Dewayne Cooper, and his daughter Yolanda Renee' McCowan. One brother, KC Holman (Ruby), and two sisters Helen Cooper-Johnson and Louella Starks. 12 grandchildren-Ricky Lee Williams, Chaquate Williams, Whitnee Muhammad, Erika Cooper, Derrick McNairy, Tyler Mitchell, Brooklyn Cooper, Taylor Cooper, Keldrick Cooper, Keira Cooper, Kyla Cooper, and one great granddaughter Summer McNairy and a host of nieces, nephews, other family members, friends and relatives.
