Helen was born on April 21, 1953 to the late Hosie Bill Franklin, Sr. and Blanchie Lee Duncan Franklin in Monroe, Louisiana. She was the third born of seven children. She departed this life on April 4, 2024 at Methodist Dallas Medical Center in Dallas, Texas.
She grew up in Calhoun, Louisiana and was baptized at an early age. She attended Central Elementary and Central High School. While in high school, she played basketball and softball. After high school, she went to Job Corps in McKinney, Texas. She was employed with Frito-Lay and retired after 23 years of service. She worked part-time for Dallas County ISD.
She loved spending time with her family, playing horseshoes, watching TV, listening to music and dancing. Tupac was her favorite artist.
Helen is preceded in death by both parents and siblings; Hosie Bill Franklin, Jr. and Joyce Marie Franklin McCrutcheon.
She leaves to cherish her memories; her children – Marcus Raymon Franklin and Marquitta Rachell Franklin both of Dallas, Texas
Grandchildren – Titianice Franklin, Treffaey Barnett, Naotassja Calloway, Dahmarqus Franklin, Markecia Franklin, Sabrina Grant, Tamiya Franklin, Izrael Broussard, Ta'Niyah Franklin, Danya Higgins, Jayden M. Franklin, Marcus Franklin, Jr., Ja'veion M. Franklin and Mayghen Franklin all of Dallas, Texas
Great-grandchildren – Mckenzee Gray, Je'Naila Calloway, Ryland Holloway, Easton Gray, Amilian Holloway, Jordyn Smith, Kaleb Dukes, Willow Taylor and Malani Williams all of Dallas, Texas; and her fur grandbaby, Layla Grant
Siblings – Shirley Franklin Hargrove (Larry) and Norma Franklin Turner (Van) of Monroe, Louisiana; Patricia Franklin Dennis (Sammy) of Calhoun, Louisiana; Catherine Franklin Payne of Atlanta, Georgia; a host of nieces and nephews, and other relatives and friends.
