Heather Joy Jones, better known as "Penny" was born March 21, 1982, in Compton, California. Penny wore the biggest brightest smile that lit up the room anytime she walked into it. She was the eldest of her siblings, the "caretaker" of the bunch. Penny always made sure her sisters and brothers were protected and cared for. She accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of Second Avenue Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Gaylon Harrison. Penny graduated high school from South Oak Cliff High School, class of 2001.

On March 18, 2017, she married the love of her life Adrian Jones, they have two daughters Adriana and Alayah Jones.

Penny has always worked closely with children. That was her ministry. The children always loved to see Ms. Heather coming through the doors in the morning.

Penny was a beautiful person with a beautiful soul. We have so many fond memories of her that we will cherish forever in our hearts. Penny took pride in how she looked. She loved a beautiful hairstyle, eyelashes and earrings. There was never a moment when she was not prepared, when she walked out of the comforts of her home.

Penny leaves to cherish her memories, her husband Adrian Jones; two daughters Adriana and Alayah Jones; her mother Sofia Lusk; fathers James Jones and Odell Ennis Jr; four brother Brandon Jones (LaShema), Edward Jones, Philip Jones and Trevor Edwards; one sister Sha'Tasha Rhone (Zachary); and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. Penny is preceded in death by her sister Tawanna Jones, Grandmother Betty Ennis and Grandfather Odell Ennis Sr.
