Obituary

Hazel Albertha Williams Hall was born on February 11, 1940, in Savannah, Georgia, to Jessie Mae Lee. Jessie Mae later married Robert Williams, who lovingly accepted Hazel as his own. Hazel was also deeply influenced by her grandmother, Nazarene Martin, who served as a guiding force in her life. Though she was an only child, her cousins—Willa Mae McArthur, Clara Dean Cooper, and Mary Scott—made sure
she always felt the love and bond of sisterhood.

After graduating from high school in 1958, Hazel joined the United States Navy, where she met and married the love of her life, Jewel Hall. Together, they built a beautiful family and were blessed with three children: Robert, Cynthia, and Thomas. Eventually, the family made their home in Dallas, Texas, where Hazel created a warm and loving household on Oleta Drive and became a steady and
valued presence in her community. Faith was an essential part of Hazel's life. She served faithfully as Treasurer at Jonelle Missionary Baptist Church before later uniting with Goodwill Baptist Church. There, she continued her devotion to God and service to others as an usher and active member of several church committees, always willing to give of her time, her heart, and her care.

Hazel also dedicated her professional life to serving others through her work at the Veterans Affairs Hospital, where she served as a Nurse Coordinator. Her career reflected her compassionate spirit, her commitment to excellence, and her deep respect for those who served our nation.
She was a woman of curiosity, wisdom, and generosity. Hazel loved to travel and explore the world, creating treasured memories on trips to places such as Rome and Alaska. She also believed in giving back to her community, volunteering with organizations such as ACORN and faithfully supporting public broadcasting through donations to PBS. At home, she enjoyed staying informed on current events and had her favorite lineup of news programs. She was also a devoted Dallas Cowboys fan, always cheering them on and hoping for the next big victory. Above all, Hazel was devoted to her family. She made sure those she loved were cared for, and her home was always a place of comfort, safety, and love. Her strength, kindness, and unwavering presence will remain in the hearts of all who knew her.

Hazel was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jewel Hall, and her eldest son, Robert Hall.
She leaves to cherish her precious memory her daughter, Cynthia Nixon; her son, Thomas Hall (Sheila Hall); her grandchildren, Temeika Stegall (John Stegall), Tamara Hall, Angela Hall Daniels, Adolphe Jackson IV, Samantha Haynes (Cassius Haynes), Ashley Fountain (Cortez Fountain), Jayden Hall, and Jaysa Hall; and her great-grandchildren, Marshall Damien Johnson, Hazel Daniels, Marquise Nixon, Ayana Daniels, John F. Stegall Jr., Akeva Daniels, Montez Haynes, Johntazhia Stegall, Cameron Haynes, Christopher Fountain, Elise Haynes, and Faith Fountain;
along with a host of other relatives, dear friends, and all who were blessed by her kindness and strength. For a life lived in faith, service, and love, we believe Heaven welcomed Hazel with the words: "Well done, thou good and faithful servant."
