Hattie Mae Smith was born in Corsicana, TX to the parentage of Theo and Ozella Smith. on Saturday, January 30, Hattie passed away after battling COVID 19 and other health issues. Hattie was the oldest of 9 children. Her parents, 2 nephews Kedrick Smith & Samuel Williams preceded her in death.
Hattie was a 1964 graduate of Booker T. Washington High School in Dallas, TX. Upon graduation, she attended Santa Monica College in Santa Monica, CA. She worked for St. Regis Packaging Company for many years and retired from Quaker Oats Company.
Hattie was a member of Harvest of Praise Ministry, under the leadership of pastor Kevin Taylor. She was a faithful member of The Mother's Board. Prior to Harvest of Praise Ministry, she was a member of Mt. Calvary COGIC, under the leadership of Elder J.J. Taylor where she served on The Usher Board.
Hattie was a loving person who would help anyone in need. Her greatest treasures in life were spending time with her family.
She leaves to cherish her lovely memories; two sons, Felton Smith of Dallas, TX, Nakia (Tarsha) Smith of Lancaster, TX; six grandchildren, Jasmine, Sir Thomas, Shakia, Kialond, S'Ance& Nakia II; four great-grandchildren, Jayda, Alexandria, Lovie & Leviticus; five brothers, Lorence, Jessie (Claudia), Theo Jr., Dale (Letha), Marcus; three sisters, Bessie, Linda, Sonja (Mike); three aunts, Mary, Doris and Bessie. One uncle L. H., and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
