Gwendolyn Timmons, also known as "Gwen," was born in Marshall, Texas to the parentage of the late Johnnie B. and Rossie B. Owens. She departed this earthly life for her heavenly home on October 25, 2012 in Dallas, Texas.

She was educated in the Marshall Public School and graduated from H.B. Pemberton High School in 1960. She attended Wiley College where she majored in Business Education. She met and married the love of her life, Horace A. Timmons, on October 20, 1965. To this union two children were born, Erik and Sussette.

She worked in the Dallas Independent School District. She was an inspiration to her co-workers as a Data Controller at South Oak Cliff High School and David W. Carter High School.

Her memories will be cherished by all who knew and loved her.

The family will receive family and friends at Evergreen Memorial Funeral Home 8-8:45pm at Evergreen.

The homegoing celebration will commence on Thursday, November 1, 2012 11:00am at New Jerusalem Institutional Baptist Church, 3022 South Beckley Avenue, Dallas, Texas
