Obituary

Gregory DeShaun Calloway was born on May 28, 1968. He lived in Dallas, TX. He quietly left this world on October 17, 2017.

Greg was educated in the Dallas Independent School District. He earned his high school diploma at Dallas East Center for the Developmentally Disabled, formerly Angels Incorporated.

Though he had limitations, Greg loved God, people, & music. He could sing along & listen to music for hours. He loved singing the hymn, "This Little Light of Mine" or in his words, "This Little Might of Mine". His favorites were sung by choirs & groups. He loved Mississippi Mass, The Gaither Family & Riverside Missionary Baptist. Church Peppermints, popsicles, & potatoes were his beloved treats.

Those left to cherish his memories: His mother, Alleanor Weaver; Two Sisters, Andrea Calloway & Chandra Weaver: One niece, Aaliyah Calloway-Cummings; One nephew, Caleb Logan; His grandmother, Alzemia Calloway; A Special Family Friend, Lonndi Gillins; godmother, Helen McGlothin; Three aunts, Amelia Calloway, Alicia Lee, & Anita Swindell; One uncle, Wayne Swindell, His beloved cousins and a host of other loving family & friends.

Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free, I'm following the path God laid for me. I took his hand when I heard his call, I turned my back and left it all. I could not stay another day, to laugh, to love, to sing, to play. Tasks left undone must stay that way, I've found that peace at the close of the day.
