Obituary

Gloria Jean was born in Groesbeck, Texas on January 23, 1947 to the parentage of Ms. Verdie Lee Smith (deceased) and Mr. Ben Gene Blacknall (deceased). She accepted Christ long before eternal life.

Gloria received her preparatory education from Lincoln High School. She met and married Floyd Shaw, Jr. To this union was born four children: Alan Keith Shaw, Floyd Ray Shaw III, Darryl Wayne Shaw and Monica Yvette Shaw.

Gloria worked in the Health Care Industry as a Nurse Assistant for many years. She had a passion for life and loved spending time with her extended family and friends. She had an adventurous spirit and loved fishing. She looked forward to attending annual family reunions which created opportunities to create cherished memories. She showed compassion to people by willingly opening up her home to anyone in need. She was an avid reader who enjoyed learning about many different things. She would often be found enjoying several books at the same time. She felt a strong desire to learn about something new every day.

Gloria was a very special mother, wife, sister, aunt, grandmother and great grandmother. She peacefully entered eternal rest on November 18, 2017. She leaves to cherish her memory: son Alan Keith Shaw (Janice) of San Antonio, Texas; son, Floyd Ray Shaw III (Cynthia) of Dallas, Texas; son, Darryl Wayne Shaw of Dallas, Texas; daughter, Monica Yvette Shaw of San Antonio, Texas; three sisters: Lawanda Joyce Busby-Ross of Lancaster, Texas; Marilyn Kay Busby of Dallas, Texas, Gwendolyn Rene Johnson of Dallas, Texas; two brothers: Donald Ray Busby (Rosalyn) of Desoto, Texas; and Johnny Busby (Sharon) of Glenn Heights, Texas; four grandchildren: Alan Keith Shaw, Jr, Andrew Duncan, Keisha Bell and Floyd Ray Shaw IV and three great grandchildren; one aunt Nola Fay Smith of Groesbeck, Texas and a host of relatives and friends.
