On May 23, 1950 Gladys was born to the proud parents of Warren Tom (President) and Pansy Ruth Adams Scott in Jasper, Texas. She received her formal education at J. H. Rowe, Elementary, Jr. High and High School where she graduated in 1968.
Gladys gave her life to Christ in 1979 at Sunset Baptist Church Grand Prairie, Tx. under the leadership of Rev. Matthew C. McGruder where she sang in the choir and served on the Pastor's Aide Committee.
In 1984 Gladys became a member of True Vine Miracle Tabernacle, Grand Prairie. TX. where she received the baptism of the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in tongues as the Spirit gave utterance. She was also sanctified under the leadership of Pastors Travis and Harese Lawrence. Gladys sang in the True Vine choir and taught the Primary Class until 1992.
September 29, 2002 Gladys became a member of Progressive C.O.G.I.C Dallas, Texas under the leadership of Pastor Tommy H. Taylor where she sang in the Choir, taught the Primary and Junior Sunday School Class. Gladys also served as the Youth Department President and started the monthly Women's Breakfast.
In April 2018 having a desire to be in Church more than Sunday Morning Service she returned to New True Vine in Grand Prairie where she was able to be in service more under the leadership of Pastor Christopher Davis.
Gladys's parents President and Pansy preceded her in death along with one brother Calvin (Fish Stick) Wilson Jr. and one Grandson Aaron LaDale Summers. She was a loving mother to her two children. She was also a devoted and faithful wife to her husband Marvin Carl Taylor Sr.
She leaves to cherish her memory one daughter Chante' Antoinette Scott, one son Marvin Carl Taylor Jr., Four sisters and two brothers. Phyllis Alston, Lucy (Winston) Taylor, Alfreida (Eddie) Franklin, Victoria Scott, Alton (Joann) Scott, Alphenus Scott. Six grandchildren, Tiffany Lorraine Burgess, Christopher Lamont Polk, Tauvion Kyri Leonard, Terrell Taylor, Tiara Lenn Burgess, Triston Taylor, one great grandson Draylen LaDale Dillon, and a host of nieces and nephews.
