Gerald Francis Mundy "Jerry" to his friends and loved ones was born March 20, 1933 in Missoula Montana from the union of Florence and Michael Mundy. He moved with his family to Los Angeles as a little child.
Gerald graduated from Manual Arts High School in 1951 after high school he joined the Navy where he proudly served his country and was honorably discharged after the Navy he joined the Reserves. He worked for both the Los Angeles School District and Beverly Hills Unified School District which also enabled his 5 children to go to a better school. He attended Syracuse University NY to earn a Certificate in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Maintenance Repair. Gerald had a varied Maintenance Career, retiring from Farmers Insurance in Los Angeles as a Maintenance Engineer Supervisor.
Gerald developed a love for bowling and loved to travel. He had a big heart and loved spending time with friends and family. He had a great sense of humor, was quite athletic and had a great love for music. Gerald retired and moved to Dallas, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents Michael and Florence Mundy; brothers, Michael Mundy, Richard Mundy and twin to Richard, Laverne Govan (Herman). He leaves to cherish his memory: a devoted wife Sandra Mundy; uncle, Howard Johnson (Janet); children, Sopora Cole (Boysie), Kimly Mundy, Deborah Carter (Larry), Valerie Vital (Ernest) and Gerald L. Mundy (Higinia); grandchildren, Tameika, Dante, Kelly, Wendy, Terrell, Lauren, Summer, Ernest, Matthew, Hiram, Alexandria, and Mekai and a multitude of great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Gerald will leave cherished memoreis to a host of brother in laws, sister in laws, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
