Gerald L. Jackson peacefully departed this earthly life for his heavenly home on September 24, 2024 in Ferris, Texas. He was born on December 14, 1949, in Ferris, Texas, to the late Oddie and Dollie Jackson, Gerald was one of 14 children born to this blessed union.
Gerald met and married the love of his life, Edna Dickerson, with whom he shared 32 wonderful years of marriage until her passing. Throughout their marriage, Gerald was a devoted husband, cherishing every moment they spent together and building a loving family. To this union, five children were born: Genard Jackson (Phaedra), Lamnot Jackson, Darron Jackson, Lisa Smith (Ervin), and Annette Jackson. Gerald was a dedicated father who took great pride in watching his children grow and flourish, always offering guidance, love, and support.
Gerald grew up in a large and loving family, where he learned the values of hard work, compassion, and unity. He was a beloved brother, uncle, and friend to many. His joyful spirit, humor, and kind-heartedness touched the lives of everyone he met.
As a dedicated member of his community, Gerald was known for his willingness to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. His life was a testament to kindness, service, and humility. He will be remembered for his unwavering loyalty to family and friends, his love for cooking, and his ability to bring joy to any gathering.
Gerald was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Edna Jackson, his parents, Oddie and Dollie Jackson, and his siblings: Curtis Charles, Floyd Jackson, Debra Jackson, Darlene Jackson, and Velma Jackson. His passing leaves a void in the hearts of those who knew him, but his legacy of love and kindness will continue to inspire.
Gerald is survived by his five children, seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, his remaining siblings, and a host of other relatives and friends who will forever cherish his memory.
