Frankie Jean Greer was born December 24, 1948 to the parents of Bessie McNeal and Henry Greer Sr. in West Monroe, Louisiana. She graduated from Richardson High School in West Monroe, Louisiana in 1966. She gave her life to Christ at an early age while attending Piney Grove Missionary Baptist Church.
She moved to Dallas, TX in 1974 where she was employed with Nortel Electronics before starting to work at Frito Lay in 1978 until retiring in 1998. While working on her Associate Degree from Cedar Valley Junior College, she began working at Desoto Independent School District as a substitute teacher from 2004 until her passing.
In 1975, she married Leon Hanspard and to this union one child, Byron, was born. In 1984, Mrs. Frankie married Andrew Laymond, and in this union one son, D'Andre was born.
On Sunday, January 28, 2018, Frankie transcended from earth to heaven.
She united with the Potter's House but faithfully attended Faithful Missionary Baptist Church every third Sunday to hear her eldest son, Rev. Byron Hanspard, Sr. preach.
Frankie was strong, intelligent and determined woman who at the age of 69 enrolled at the University of North Texas, Dallas campus to further her education.
She is preceded in death by her parents Bessie McNeal Greer and Henry Greer, two sisters, Dorothy Jean McNeal Henderson and Shirley Marie Greer.
Frankie leaves to cherish her memories: her husband, Andrew Laymond, two sons, Rev. Byron Hanspard, Sr. (Yolanda) and D'Andre Hanspard, three grandchildren, Byron Hanspard, Jr. (BJ), Bryon Hanspard, Bryson Hanspard, one sister, Gloria Dean Burkhalter (Sam) of Monroe, LA, two brothers, Henry Greer, Jr. and Jerry Lee Greer of West Monroe, LA., 2 aunts, 4 uncles, 5 nephews, 3 nieces, special friends, Wanda Morton, Faye Moore and Sara Penson and a host of other relatives and friends.
