Euranie De
La Rose Williams
April 16, 1932 – October 16, 2025
Devoted mother and beloved educator, Euranie Theresa De La Rose Williams, was born on April 16, 1932, in New Orleans, Louisiana, to the late Walter Cour De La Rose and Adele Goutier De La Rose.
Euranie attended Corpus Christi Catholic School and graduated from Xavier Preparatory High School. She went on to earn her Bachelor of Arts in Education from Xavier University and later achieved a master's degree in music education from Columbia University. Her lifelong enthusiasm for both education and music shaped her distinguished career as an educator with Southern University School Lab and the Dallas Independent School District (DISD).
Throughout her career, she taught at several Dallas schools, including Lisbon, B. F. Darrell, DeGoyer Elementary, Herbert Marcus, and N.W. Harlee Elementary School, where she skillfully integrated music into the teaching of basic academic skills. She also produced numerous school musicals that inspired joy and creativity in her students. After 42 years of dedicated service, Euranie retired from DISD, leaving behind a lasting legacy as an educator and curriculum developer.
Euranie lived in Middletown, New York, before relocating to Dallas, Texas, where she became a faithful and active member of Holy Cross Catholic Church for more than 60 years. As a devout Catholic, she served her parish in many capacities — playing the organ and piano for English and Spanish Masses, participating from 197s - in the Altar Society, Lecturer, Choir, Singles Ministry, Life Force, and the Knights of Peter Claver Ladies Auxiliary.
Euranie was also a proud member of several organizations, including the Squaws, Top Ladies of Distinction, and the Imani Institute.
She was preceded in death by her loving parents; her brothers Walter De La Rose Jr., Calvin De La Rose Sr., and Raymond De La Rose; and her sisters Evelyn De La Rose, Adele De La Rose Bertrand, Lilian De La Rose De Blanc, Lucille De La Rose Trotter, Melvina De La Rose Hebert, and Juanita De La Rose Francis.
Euranie is lovingly remembered by her two devoted children, Rufus La Mar Williams III (Yolanda) and Euranie Theresa De La Rose Williams Patin (David); her cherished grandchildren Chastity Williams, Raven Allen, Courtney Allen, Manon Williams Burch (Andre), Cole Patin, Carson Patin, and Chad Patin; great-grandchildren Alex Burch, Amon Burch, and Laila Allen; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, friends, and former students whose lives she touched deeply.
