Lovingly Known as Dorris, was born to John Holleman and Jessie Holleman on April 14,1929 in Amarillo. Tx. As a young woman, Dorris loved to spend time with her friends, listen to music, sing, dance and travel. Later in life, Dorris married and went on to have nine children, three who preceded her in death (Carolyn Vann, Billy Vann and Thomas Jones). She was a Loving and hardworking mother who only wanted the best for her children and always encouraged them to be their Best After raising her children, Dorris decided she wanted to move to Denver Colorado so she could live close to the mountains. While living in Denver, she met some special friends who shared Bible Truths with her, and she decided to dedicate her life to God and get Baptized in 1995 as one of Jehovah's Witnesses.
Throughout her entire life, She held an unwavering faith in God, which she shared with those who surrounded her. Dorris will always be remembered for her fun-loving and feisty personality.
She is survived by Daughter: Virginia Thirkill of Arlington, TX, Daughter Peggy Van-Woodard of Fort Worth, TX, Son: Reginald Jones (Dolly) of Upper Marlboro, Maryland, Daughter: Linda White of Mesquite, TX, Daughter: Cynthia Green of Modesto, CA and Son: Robert Swoopes of Houston, TX, Fourteen Grand Children, Thirteen Great Grand Children and one Great, Great Grand Child along with many nieces, nephews and friends and her beloved canine friend "Silk".
