Obituary

ETHEL RUTH HARDEN FLEMING was born on August 8, 1951 to the parentage of Chester S. Harden, Sr. and Alene Porter Harden of Woodville, MS.  She was educated in the Wilkinson County School District and was a 1969 graduate of Wilkinson County Training School. She furthered her studies at El Centro Community college where she obtained her nursing degree and later received her Master's Degree in nursing from Dallas Baptist University.  Ethel accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior and was baptized at an early age at Univesta Baptist Church.

Ethel Ruth met and married Willie Fleming, Jr.  This union was blessed with three sons, Rodney, Kendrick, and Desmond.

For over 20 years, she was an employee of Parkland County Hospital and Select Specialty Hospital.  Later, she was employed as a school nurse for various schools within the Dallas Independent School District, most recently Leslie A. Stemmons Elementary School.

Sister Fleming and her family united with the Griggs Chapel Church Family in 1969.  She was a busy servant in the church as a member of the Nurses' Guild, Usher Board, and the Gospel Choir.

For many years, she has enjoyed traveling the world with her sisters.  She possessed a tremendous love for people and could always be found spending time with her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters: Alene Harden, Esther Harden, Gloria Dyer, Leitha Fuller; brothers: Revonne Harden, Sr. and Chester Harden, Jr., goddaughter: Eleshea Pride.

She leaves to cherish precious memories: sons, Rodney Fleming, Sr., Kendrick Fleming (Monika), Desmond Fleming (LaToya); siblings, Samuel Harden, Sr. (Laura), Jessie Harden, Sr., Shirley Robinson (Grover), Beverly Wilson, Frances Williams (Simmie), McAmis Harden, Sr., Savannah Dent, George Harden, Sr. (Loretta), grandsons, Rodney Fleming, Jr, Regginald Fleming, Roderick Fleming, and Kendal Fleming; Granddaughter, LaMiya Mark, great grandchildren, Caison Fleming, Karma Fleming, nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
