Ernestine
Bustion
November 5, 1969 – February 17, 2022
Ernestine "Tina" Bustion, 52, of Forney, Texas, passed from this life on Thursday, February 17th, 2022, after suffering from a stroke.
She was born in Wynnewood, Pennsylvania, on November 5th, 1969, and lived much of her life in Philadelphia and the surrounding area. She graduated from George Washington Carver High School of Engineering and Science in Philadelphia as a part of the class of 1987 then attended and became an instructor at Gordon Phillips Beauty School in Upper Darby.
She worked in many fields throughout her life. A sales associate at Strawbridge's & Clothier in Springfield; a nail technician, hair stylist, and salon manager at Gordon Phillips and Not Just Nails in Yeadon; a bank teller and later specialist at Continental Bank in Ft. Washington and eventually a branch manager at Citizens Bank in the greater Philadelphia area; a front-end team lead at Wal-Mart in Forney; and finally, a senior process associate at Genpact, servicing financial customers.
All these work and life experiences cemented in her a dedication to community and charitable efforts. While at Citizens Bank, she took a sabbatical to work with Career Wardrobe, a nonprofit dedicating to eliminating clothing insecurity. She served as a vice president for the Ida Thomas Foundation, a memorial charity foundation and gave her time and energy to the success of the Karen Kares Foundation, which aids women with terminal cancer. Even after moving to Forney in 2011, she continued to give all she could. She also aided multiple breast cancer awareness and fundraising efforts in both the Philadelphia and Dallas areas, such as Walks for the Cure, and gave her time and energy to efforts feeding and providing toiletries and other supplies for the homeless, as well as provide gifts for underprivileged children at Christmas.
Outside of charitable works, she loved to take vacations to new and exciting locations, baking, and action movies. Whenever it was needed, she was there to listen and give advice. If those couldn't help, she would provide a laugh instead.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Druzella; her brother, Antonio, Sr.; and her father, Ernest Arthur. She is survived by her daughter, Alexandria Denise, and her cat, Bailey.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 25th, at 2:30pm at Evergreen Memorial Funeral Home in Dallas. She will be laid to rest at Eden Cemetery in Darby, Pennsylvania, at a later date. The family suggests that memorials may be made to one of the charitable foundations she gave her energy to or another of one's choosing.
