Obituary

Ericka Olivia Evans Fields was born on September 23, 1987, to the parentage of Eric and Harriett Fields in Dallas, Texas. She was her parents only child, a priceless and irreplaceable treasure from God. Like the glory of a beautiful rose, she blossomed in the warmth and protection of her parents love and nurturing. Ericka was a talented and intelligent young lady. Ericka received her formal education from the Booker T. Washington High School for performing arts, attended Clark Atlanta University in Atlanta Georgia for two years and transferred to University of Texas in Arlington and earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice and three credit hours from earning a master's degree.

Ericka was blessed with many talents, a competitive gymnast for 13 years where she set impressive records in the field of gymnastics. Ericka always had a natural gift for the sport. She was a great communicator and writer in her various positions that she held. She was employed as a flight attendant for Delta Airlines until the covid virus caused downsizing with the airlines. She later worked for the State Department in parole and transferred to the (CPS) Child Protective Services Department.

Ericka loved the Lord and was a member of Antioch Baptist Church. She was taught life's most important lesson; faith and confidence, determination and responsibility, respect for others and for oneself, arduous work and tenacity, loyalty and loving devotion to family and friends, compassion for others and service to those less fortunate, and above all else – an unrelenting love for God and for His People. Ericka once saw a homeless family while she was attending Clark Atlanta University and bought food for them, she did not have to know you to give; her love for humanity was exemplary.

Ericka leaves her memories of love to her mother, Harriett Fields, father, Eric Fields her son, Erick Fields, and son L'Mel Fields preceded her in death, her Godmothers, Dr. Patricia Smith, and Dorthell Fields, Godfather, Weldon Fields, God sisters, Ann Franklin, and Patrice Martin, God brother, Roderick Fields, aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of friends and relatives.
