Emmit Earl Gaston was born on March 22, 1948 in Ovilla, Texas to the parents of James "Buddy" and Quinzola. He was the youngest of five siblings. His family moved to South Dallas in 1957 where he attended John Henry Brown Elementary, Pearl C. Anderson Middle, and James Madison High School. Being the baby of the family, Emmit was known as the jokester that continued throughout his life. He was fond of sports such as baseball, football and enjoyed wrestling. He also took a great interest in cars.
At an early age, Emmit confessed his faith in Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior where he attended Oak Hill Baptist Church. He later affiliated with New Found Life Bible Church and Beth Eden Baptist Church; and continued in his walk of faith at the Beginning of A New Era Baptist Church until he was called home to be with the Lord. We all know that Emmit Earl was gifted to sing the Gospel. He found joy in leading devotion and sharing his spiritual gift to bless others.
Emmit worked as a Lead Chef at Underwood Cafeteria, and as a trucker for many years. However, Outreach Ministry became his true passion where he traveled across the metroplex diligently serving in community events for the homeless.
Emmit was preceded in death by his beloved parents: James Gaston Sr. and Quinzola Chappel, two brothers: James Gaston Jr. and Lonnie Gaston, and the true love of his life - Cordelia Hall.
He is survived by two sisters: Bobbie Jean Whitaker and Mary Louise Jones, three step-children: Teresa, Kendra, and Jacqueline Hall, eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
