Emmett Lydia, Jr. was born February 10, 1942 in Dallas, Texas to the parentage of Mr. Emmett Lydia, Sr. and Mrs. Earline Thomas Lydia.
Emmett confessed a faith in Christ at an early age and found favor as a member of the Antioch Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church. He and Jonnie Joann Weaver were united in Holy Matrimony February 14, 1984.
Emmett (Rooster) attended Booker T. Washington High School where he played Football and graduated in 1960; he was inducted into the United States Arm Services August 21, 1967.
He leaves to mourn his passing: Wife, Jonnie Joann Weaver Lydia; (1) Daughter, April Brianne' Lydia Hendrix(Walter Hendrix)Shreveport, La. (2)Brothers-Chris & Charles Lydia, Dallas, Texas(1)Sister-Cynthia. (2) Sister-in-Law; Rosie Mack (Charles Mack), Keithville, La.; Carolyn Abner, Shreveport, La.; (2) Brother-in-Law: Samuel Remble (Alice Remble North Carolina; Henry Breckenridge (Freda Breckenridge) Cedar Hill, Texas. (20) Grandchildren and a host of great grands, nieces, nephews, great nieces/and great nephews. His fondest memories were spending time and hanging out with his grandchildren, along with the McDonald Crew.
